We are a team of builders. Whether it's our columnar database, API server, or partnership programs, we are always building something to take Treasure Data to the next step.

We are looking for a couple of builders to join our team. We are still a small team, and you will be expected to own and build out a significant part of our service.

Specifically, we are looking for a developer evangelist, frontend engineer and generalist engineer.

• Developer Evangelist

  As a developer evangelist, you engage and grow Treasure Data's developer community by building demos and mashups, hosting meetups, blogging, giving conference talks and coming up with a creative stunt that we haven't thought of yet to help developers get the most out of Treasure Data. Wow us.

  Qualities we look for

  • Amazing communication skills. You must be a good writer. You must be a great public speaker. And most important, you must be an excellent listener.
  • People person: you will be the face of Treasure Data. Ideally, when people hear your name, Treasure Data pops to their minds and vice versa. You've got to be empathetic, eloquent and genuine.
  • The ability to prototype demos: you will be responsible for building your own developer marketing material, and a lot of that will require coding.
  • Previous experience with developer evangelism is a plus but not necessary. You might be a software engineer who finds getting fellow developers excited rewarding. You might be a marketing person who just finished a crash course on Ruby on Rails and think software is the most awesome thing since sliced bread. Either way, we value passion and commitment over experience.
  • The ability to travel frequently: you will be attending a lot of events, many of which may not be local.

• Frontend Engineer

  If you reverse engineer cool CSS3 effects by view-sourcing, have used d3.js to visualize data, or are getting tired of explaining the difference between "==" and "===" in JavaScript to your coworkers, this is a perfect position for you.

  As our first frontend specialist, you will architect and implement Treasure Data's visualization tools, dashboards ands websites. What you build will be used by our customers everyday to build and run services that hundreds of millions of people use.

• Generalist Software Engineer with an eye for good API design

  You will own, design, architect, re-architect, implement and troubleshoot the entire API layer. Our API server is written in Ruby and speaks to our Hadoop-based backend. You will work closely with both backend engineers and pre-sales engineers to evolve our API and keep it up and running for our customers.
